NME Front Cover-Lily Allen Edition.
This is NMEs logo which is the original logo. NME stands for New Musical Express. This logo stands out as it is designed using bright colours and capital letters. The Mast Head (logo) is used to advertise and brand this magazine. The main image features A list celebrity,Lily Allen, the image catches your eye and pops out the page as she is extremely pale and disorientated. The image can be branded as PUNK and is a code for diversity, diverse to her usual prom dress trainer combo. I think her hair being black and her face pale white will also draw readers in more than a black and white image would. Main Cover Line: NME has used the monochrome effect to draw in the readers attention. The close up shot of lily uses contrast of black and white which relates to the main story 'LILY ALLEN TAKES ON THE WORLD. The pull quote on this particular magazine is 'I cant keep living like this' this is a very clever convention of the magazines design as it only uses a quote that makes the reader intrigued about the double page spread. The font style is 'blocky' suggesting a classic font as the magazine is established. The convention of the 'puffs' on the right hand side gives the readers more information and an insight into the magazines contents. There is also a strap line on the bottom stating the bands and artists features in this addition of NME.

Peri, you must analyse in far more detail exploring codes and conventions. What is the font code for- what conventions do they use- what are the colours code for etc?
